Abbreviated description (Warning! SPOILERS)[]
During a rebellion, k'Valdemar Wingleader Kelvren is scouting on his own when he dives down to save a Valdemar patrol. He defeats the enemies, but is gravely wounded. The human healers put him in a tent with mortally wounded Guard Hallock Stavern. Stavern tells Kelvren about a perfect day he had with his wife. Stavern's consciousness fades as he is dying. Kelvren decides to heal him, and expends every scrap of his personal magic reserves.
Notes[]
The setting of the Gryphon Kelvren Miniseries is a military conflict with a "secessionist" movement in Deedun. The government of Valdemar is in a bind because the clash is internal: thug businessman Farragur Elm and his unscrupulous friends have seized all of the local resources in Deedun, declared they were seceding from Valdemar, and hired a Mercenary company to defend them. Valdemar doesn't want to be seen as oppressing their own people just for dissenting. However, the "leadership" of the movement does not represent the citizens whose assets and work have been stolen.
