The Healers' Collegium is part of the Valdemaran integrated Collegia system housed in the Palace Complex in Haven.
The school is attached to the main House of Healing where the students attend Master Healers on their rounds. Older students also practice their Gifts under the close supervision of Master Healers. A designated building for the Healers' Collegium was first constructed during the reign of King Kiril.[1]
Depending on their background and needs, Healer-trainees may attend some general academic classes in the Heralds' Collegium, alongside all of the other Collegia students. They are eligible but not required to take weapons training at the salle, since it is antithetical to their Gift. Nevertheless, all Collegia students are encouraged to learn archery so they can hunt in case their food supplies get low while on Circuit.
Healers are rare and valuable, and there is never a cost to attend training, whether at the Collegium or at their local House of Healing.
Staffing[]
The Healers' Collegium has a dean who oversees the curriculum, and disciplines Healer-trainees as needed. While Healers may occasionally train unusual Gifts, such as Empathy, they mostly only teach the specialized classes their trainees require.
Uniforms[]
The students at each collegium wear uniforms, which are color-coded to their school. Each is a pale or subdued version of the uniforms worn by the graduates. In the case of Healer-trainees, the uniforms are a pale green.
