Valdemar's main House of Healing is the healing temple located in the Palace Complex in Haven. It is attached to the Healers' Collegium, and is the location for all student practicum work. With the high calibre of the Healers turned professors, and the abundance of student assistants, it is the premier healing temple in Valdemar. All the most serious cases, frequently involving Heralds, are sent there.
There are other Houses of Healing scattered throughout Valdemar. Although they are not as large and do not cover every area of expertise, they are a lot closer than Haven. Their Healers are Collegium trained and have the Healing Gift, and with a supporting staff they are able to offer a higher level of care than a village's sole Healer. Presumably a village healer could send a complicated case to them as the next level of treatment. It is not specified, but Healers who travel established routes to service very small villages are probably based out of a House of Healing. A House of Healing near the border became part of Valdemar's trade with the Northern tribes seeking help for diseases they were unable to treat locally.[1]
