Loden is a river town on the road between Karse and Haven. It was the last town where Ulrich, Karal and Rubrik were due to stop overnight before going on to the capital. However, with a terrible storm on the way and the bridge already shaky from earlier storm damage, the group elected to press on. This turned out to be a wise decision as that night's storm did indeed destroy the bridge. (Storm Warning, Chapter Eight)
