Riverend is a mining village located in the extreme north of Valdemar, in the mountains along the northernmost border. It suffers from harsh winters, and everyone stays in the Hold to conserve heat and resources. Without a Healer available, the winters result in a higher death toll among the villagers than is common elsewhere. Heralds only ride through in the spring, after the passes clear, and never stay over.
Riverend is the hometown of Herald Kayla Grayson.[1]
