A Sorcerer-Adept is not only an adept-level mage, able to use Nodes directly, he or she is also a creator. A Sorcerer-Adept has the ability to actually create whole species, or work other similar kinds of magic. Ancient Sorcerer-Adepts created the gryphons and the hertasi, among others. The ability to create new species was a mark of prestige among Adepts before the Mage Wars. During those preceding centuries a handful of Sorcerer-Adepts created new creatures.
