Talhkarsh is an imp, a very low level creature of the Abyssal Planes. The mage Leland was trying to summon him, with plans to bind him to an imp-bottle to serve him. Due to a mispronunciation caused by a momentary lapse in concentration, Leland summoned the powerful demon Thalhkarsh instead. He paid for the mistake with his own torment and death.
