The Valdemar Wiki is about the novels and stories set in the fictional universe of Velgarth created by bestselling author Mercedes Lackey. Most of the books focus on Valdemar, a nation guarded by the completely trustworthy Heralds, and their mysterious Companions, who take the shape of horses.
The first Valdemar novel published, in 1987, is Arrows of the Queen. Since then it has grown to span more than fifty novels and anthologies, and millennia of history.
