Synopsis
Empath Kayla, an empath, is haunted by dreams of a black dragon. Then she dreams of white beauty. Eventually her Companion, Darius, comes for her, and two Heralds plead for her aid against a coma epidemic spreading across the nation. She is reluctant, as she promised her dying mother to care always for her home. In Haven, she learns more about her mother, making sense of her past. The person known to be causing the epidemic is revealed: a powerful empathic Herald who has suffered loss. She must find a way to end the problem.
